Sea Scout Leader
Geoff Hornby

Membership of the Sea Scout section is open to girls and boys from the age
of 10 ½ to 14 years old. The Scout Leader is Geoff Hornby and there are three
Assistant Scout Leaders, Cyndy Lloyd, Yvonne Williams and Robert Baird.
James Williams is the Section Helper.

Scouts are allocated into Patrols under the leadership of a Patrol Leader
and an Assistant Patrol Leader. PL’s and APL’s have a troop forum, where
they make contributions on behalf of their patrols to the planning and
decision making within the troop.

The Scout Section is a member of Budworth Sailing club and the Cheshire
Schools Sailing and Canoeing Association (CSSCA). This enables us to provide plenty of water activities during the summer season. Scouts are encouraged to take part in training for both the British Canoe Union and Royal Yachting Association training schemes.

The highlights of the Scouting calendar for the troop are always the weekend
and group camping expeditions. Scouts have the opportunity to attend the
group’s annual camp and at least two weekend camps each year. The Group also tries to offer an International camping opportunity whenever possible.
