LEADERS

This is the section on which the whole group depends. Without our leaders,
there would be no Scout Group. We are very lucky to have a dedicated team of
leaders and contrary to popular belief, they are all volunteers and they do
not get paid for their time with the Group!

Leaders undertake progressive training like everyone else, the highest
leadership award being the Wood Badge. At 1st Weaverham, our leaders also
have to undertake training in all the water activities that we offer, as
well as mountain leadership, Nights Away and minibus driving! All leaders
also have to undertake first aid training.

Scout Section leaders also attend District Executive Committee meetings,
Cheshire Water Activities Committee meetings, the Cheshire Schools
Sailing Association meetings and County Sea Scout meetings.

As you can see, our leaders are very committed to Scouting and the Scout Movement. Understandably, we expect a high level of commitment from our
members too!

Our Group Scout leader is Mr Robert Lloyd, he is responsible for all the
leaders in the group. He is also actively involved with the group, using his
water activity qualifications during the summer, as well
as assisting with the Group camps.
